Lil’ Signs & Synchronicities
The law of synchronicity, a term originally coined by Carl Jung, operates from the belief that our souls attract people, places and events into our lives that help us to grow, develop, make meaning and evolve in consciousness. I’ve come to recognize and acknowledge curious little synchronicities as signs rather than dismissing them as “just a coincidence”. In my mind, there are no coincidences!
I’ve been telling Dave I that I wanted a weather vane for the top of the barn and he found this one listed for a very reasonable price on Craigslist. He contacted the sellar, who just happened to live in Fawn Grove, PA, only miles from the little cabin I used to live in, where my four children were born. Needless to say, he volunteered to a quick “drive by” since we were in the area, despite the “NO TRESPASSING” signs at the bottom of the road/driveway!
Interestingly, the older we become, it seems our lives tend to spiral, often allowing a form of return/a glimpse of the familiar places from which we started. It up to us, our will and the choices we make, whether we become stuck in the same vicious cycles and patterns, or advance from those places of origin, only carrying what we’ve learned, leaving the rest, forgiving the past. It was a healthy opportunity for me to reminisce and reflect on how I’ve grown, things I’ve learned, and how my life has changed since I lived there. It was the right moment in time for this visit; a very healing moment for me.
“The Sellar lived in Fawn Grove, only miles from the little cabin I used to live in, where my four children were born!”
We met the sellar at the Rutters store in Fawn Grove, PA. If you know my husband, you know he has the gift of gab and will strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone he meets. They began talking, and the sellar asked what we planned to do with the old weather vane. Dave started explaining that we had bought a farm down in Tennessee, and don’t you know, the sellars father (now deceased) lived in Tennessee, in Rogersville, off of Goshen Road, just miles from our property! Odd coincidence? Some may say so, but I think not!

He and Dave talked for a good twenty minutes or more. The weather vane is copper, the sellar apologized because he had painted over it with black paint; it needs some restoration first, then we’ll proudly mount it on the roof of our barn in June. Of course, we promised the sellar we would send pictures. I’ve already set the intention to invite him and his wife down to taste some wine and see it in person some day. I know we were meant to find this old weather vane! It may seem a simple thing, but I like to believe there is a much loftier reason, one that is beyond our wildest comprehension, only time will tell.
When you’re following your intuition, your passion, your calling, your true north; acting on what truly feels aligned in your heart, in your life, in your business; you inevitably start receiving little signs, synchronicities, nods from the Universe (from God), just like these, confirming you are on the right path!
