Our Future Winery
We weren’t the only ones laboring over Labor Day weekend! While we were busy with our renovation projects, Victor and Freddy, contractors for USA Metal Structures, built the garage which will serve as our future winery.
They arrived late Friday evening, worked exceptionally long days, dealt with a few passing rainstorms, and finished late Tuesday night.
We genuinely appreciated their time and steady effort, and we tried to show it by making them breakfast, lunch, and dinner; they loved our cooking and really enjoyed our ice-cold wine slushies at the end of each day!
The garage doors will be installed early October, then we can begin our work on the interior.
This was a huge leap of faith and a huge leap forward! We are so grateful, thrilled to be on this journey together, and excited for the future!
Signs and synchronicities
Tuesday night, after Victor and Freddy finished the garage, they asked Dave and me to do a thorough walkthrough of the entire project to ensure all work was completed according to the plans and specifications.
It was the craziest thing! We were both astounded by the number of Katydids that were sitting ALL OVER the building, both inside and out! We must have seen a hundred or more of them! Mind you, we have had this property since August of 2021, and although we have certainly heard their chorus at night, neither of us had ever spotted one sitting on or near the house until now.
Anyone that knows me, knows I’m a little “woo-woo” when it comes to spiritual/mystical topics. Even Dave calls me a weirdo, lol. But when I shared the spiritual meaning and symbolism of the katydid with him, he was dumbfounded, utterly impressed by how deeply it resonated with the both of us! God continues to send us wonderful messages of encouragement, letting us know we are on the right path, in many mysterious ways!
Katydids are a sign of good luck, that positive changes are coming. They show us it’s okay to take a step back and look at everything around us before making a move - teaching us the value of patience in achieving our goals and the importance of perseverance in the face of obstacles. Every sighting of a katydid is like a little nudge from nature to trust ourselves and to keep moving forward, no matter what; to stay true to our path, and follow what we believe is right, even when it’s hard.
They symbolize transformation and growth, encouraging us to embrace new opportunities and experiences that lead to self-improvement. Seeing a katydid is a reminder to be introspective, to keep listening to your inner voice, as it can guide you to make wise choices. It is a call to be adaptable and to navigate through life’s challenges without drawing unnecessary attention, finding creative solutions and staying grounded amidst adversity. It is a reminder of the importance of clear and authentic communication in our relationship(s); emphasizing our interconnectedness with all living beings, and the importance of living in harmony with nature. A reminder that it is the simple, everyday things that can bring us the most joy.
