Divine Timing
In contemplating a title for this blog, “divine timing” immediately arose from my heart space. Our last trip to Tennessee was just that; divine timing to help family, to progress our build at Poor Valley Creek, and to make new connections.
Each fall, David’s current employer requires him to select all of his vacation/personal days for the year ahead; it’s a prodigious advance notice and a bit of a crap shoot when it comes to scheduling. We can’t ascertain unplanned events that arise throughout the course of a year. Heck, most “planned” events are rarely scheduled outside of a month’s notice!
When David chose January 10th-18th for vacation back in October, we had no idea that Taylor and Dakota would complete settlement on their new home in Talbott, TN on January 6th. It turned out to be perfect timing, DIVINE timing! David and I were able to help them move all of their furniture into their new home with our enclosed trailer that weekend. We are so happy they’ve moved a bit closer, only 42 miles from the farm, and now we eagerly await the arrival of our first grandson!
New Homeowners
Our first grandson, Beau Dean Schaf, is due to arrive at the end of February!
It was a cold week with temperatures dipping to a low of 11°F and we started with 4-5” of snow on Friday night. I’ve never witnessed my husband drive so carefully and alertly as he did while hauling our trailer on the icy back roads of Tennessee. It was a stressful experience and we were glad that most of it had thawed and melted by the time we were ready to make the treck back to PA!
We accomplished almost everything on our to-do list for this trip. It was a great week of LIVING in creative space, just the two of us. Outside of exhaustion and sore bodies, I fancied our evenings, winding down after crock-pot dinners with a couple of glasses of wine, reviewing the day’s work, discussing how we would tackle the next day’s tasks, and allowing new ideas to percolate with expectant energy. I must add, it was much more comfortable this time because we brought down a real bed and 86’d our air mattress. Ahhhh, I’m so grateful for the luxuries of life!
It is quite rewarding to see the aesthetics come together as we continue creating and building towards our vision!
We plan to head back down in March so we can finally meet our grandson, visit with Taylor and Dakota, and fit in a few more days of work.
We are also excited for the opportunity to meet a couple who currently live in Rogersville, and have a friend who is working to open a new rooftop wine bar right in town, thanks to the introduction from my sister Susan (it’s a small world after all).
Divine timing indeed, it’s beautiful to witness and to reflect upon, and quite an incredible feeling to know that we’re intuitively and inspirationally guided with each step, attracting the appropriate resources and connections all along the way, as we co-create with our Creator!
